# Grand Children: None and we can wait
From Bill: Marlys and I will be celebrating our thirty third wedding anniversary on August 2 so I'll miss the reunion. We have two wonderful children: Julia, age 25 graduated from Scripps College in 2004 and is an economic consultant in Los Angeles; Billy is 22 and will finish his 3-2 program from Claremont McKenna College and Columbia University next year with degrees in economics and mechanical engineering. Clearly, their mother contributed good looks, smarts and personality. I contributed height. I am the senior trial attorney in our twenty-five person business law firm, which is the oldest law firm in Eugene. I'm licensed in both Oregon and Washington and have had a couple of cases in federal court in Yakima. Marlys is the school nurse at South Eugene High School. We attend most of the school activities, which reminds us just how fast forty years go by. We enjoy skiing, hiking and sailing. I still manage to swim 3-4000 yards four days a week. Have a great time at the reunion and best wishes to all of you.Let me know when number 50 rolls around.

From joyce: Hello to all I was hoping to attend but while in Scotland at my daughter Amanda's college graduation from Saint Andrews University I broke the fibula in my right foot and I'm still recuperating! At least I got to see her graduate and got my photos of her and her friends all dolled up for the graduation Ball-kilted friends and all-no they do not wear under- wear under their kilts !! My children are all grown now. My son Jason married a lass from Dublin Ireland..Arlene was heavily recruited by Citigroup and they are living in Manhatten while my son attends Columbia Law school. My oldest daughter Melissa is a managing editor for a dot com and helping launch a new site soon. She is living in the North End of Boston with her fiance Andrew and my grand dog Dante. NO grandchildren yet! I continue to work as the hepatitis C co-ordinator and in urgent care at the VA in Bedford Mass-no plans to retire yet. I just bought a large townhouse on the 9th hole of Swanson Meadow golf course and had planned on more golf lessons but maybe in the fall. My daughter Amanda is doing an internship in Quito, Equador and I hope to visit her in September. She has had her photography from Uruguay published by the VIVA travel book and online travel source and that is where she will be helping with a new travel book that will use more of her photos. She graduated with a double major in IR and Spanish so this is really more fun than work for her. She plans on grad school in the USA in a year. I hope everyone is well and safe look forward to reading the online bio's.

From Julie: Hello! Wow, what a wonderful way to catch up. I sure have enjoyed reading what everyone has been doing for the last 40 years. I am still with the Yakima Police Department--30 years! I have made my way from one of Yakima's first female patrol officers in the early 1980's to now the supervisor of the Property and Evidence Unit. I recently got married to wonderful man, Bill. (who also just happens to work at YPD). Between us we have 7 children, 10 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.(Hey, I am too young to be a great-grandma!) We are looking forward to retirement in a few years. Would love to hear from you. Take Care, Julie

From John: As everyone else says, it is hard to believe that 40 years have passed. The saying that "once we are over the hill, we pick up speed" surely refers to the passage of time. I have been retired since 2000 and spend my time traveling with my wife, Colleen, and doing a lot of volunteer work. I garden at our church, work in a grade school library and we both work at Children's Hospital in Seattle. My hobby, other than gardening, is flyfishing. I am on the Yakima river as often as possible, but never enough. I wish I was able to be at the reunion, but will not be able to attend. Enjoy. Maybe we'll be at the next one!

From Michael: Hello friends. I'm sorry I couldn't make it back for the reunion. We're living in Nashville and are pretty busy right now. My youngest son, Linden, starts college in 2 weeks and my older son, Taylor, goes back about the same time. Karen and I are well. She works for Vanderbilt, and I am still writing, playing music and loving it. It's been an interesting journey. I was in California for many years, then, after Karen and I were married, we went to Bible School in Oklahoma, and I worked as a Worship Pastor. We were in Texas, back to California, and finally here in Nashville. We left that full-time position about a year and a half ago, and while still playing at a church most Sundays, I'm back to writing songs and playing a lot. I'd love to hear from any one that wants to say hello. I have a "My Space" account, so you can listen to current music. Please check it out and email or call. I have many fond memories of my Eisenhower days. You all look great in the reunion pics! Big thanks to all who put this site together. Best to you all. See you at the 50th! Michael

From Patricia: Long time since graduation. This website is very well done and really fun to go through. Surprised to see who has passed on...Peter Nesvig and I went to grade school together at St. Paul's. What a great guy.
Currently, I live in Suquamish, WA on the Olympic Peninsula. It's a great little town on the water where Chief Seattle lived and is buried. It's easy access to the Bainbridge ferry and the Kingston ferry. I have my massage therapy practice here and also am on-call to 3 different spas in the area. Prior to living here I had a practice in Kirkland, WA where I was fortunate enough to snag a few Seahawk players as clients. It was lots of fun but hard work. I bought season tickets and sat in the end zone for 7 years taking pictures of my players so I could see what they were doing that might be causing injuries. I came to the conclusion that football is similar to being in a car wreck every weekend.
My oldest daughter, Michelle, played soccer in high school, graduated and her college team went to the final 4. Then she went to Germany and played for 10 years as a goalkeeper. Finally she came back and is the Women's Goalkeeping Coach at OSU. This is her second year (2009).
My youngest, Amy, is in Arlington, VA going to Marymount finishing up her Physical Therapy degree. Can't tell if she will come back to the West Coast or not. She taught English in China a few years back, but her friend came down with diphtheria and they both came back in a hurry.
Don't think I'll ever retire. Just keep on keeping on...Survived breast cancer in 2003 so am just very happy to be able to enjoy the planet one day at a time.
Take care...

From Susan: Over the last 40 years I have moved around a lot from Seattle to Dallas Texas to California. I have had 4 great children and now my youngest just had her first child. A beautiful baby girl Adriana in Oceanside California, where I am visiting till the 21 st of July then back to Bothell Washington and the real world. I spent a great number of years working at Nordstrom as a counter manager for Shiseido cosmetics. Upon realizing I no longer wanted to spend my days in high heels and miss all the weekends and the outdoors I went to work for a landscape company and I have been doing this for the last 15 years. I am now in charge of commercial seasonal color and do a lot of residential renovation and specialize in containers. I love my job because it gives me a chance to express my creativity. I also love to cook when I have the time. I am also a cancer survivor. It looks like I am in good company! Is it Yakima? Three years ago I had Uterine cancer and had surgery. I came through it with flying colors but it was a life changing experience. I look at life differently and try not to sweat the small stuff. I am on my own and loving it! I always envied my sis as she has stayed in touch with many of her school friends. I have so enjoyed hearing from you all and am looking forward to the reunion. See you soon.

From Paul: After 30 years of living on the coast, my wife, Darlene, and I decided it was time to move to the dry side of the state. We moved to Selah five years ago, and are thrilled to be over here.
Darlene continues to teach reading and social studies at Toppenish Middle School. I was a principal in the Granger School District, retiring in June of '06. I will, however, be going back to work on a temporary retire/rehire contract, teaching High School Band at Toppenish H.S. starting this August. I look forward to that.
We have three children, Anna in Wisconsin, and Rachel and Matthew in Portland. We do a lot of traveling to see the kids and grandchildren.
I look forward to seeing everyone who comes to the reunion.
